Marsden History Group
The Marsden History Group is a not-for-profit association of people who co-operate in order to research, record and promote all aspects of the history of the Marsden area. The group consists of any interested people, and has informal links with Leeds University. Most members are local, but anyone from anywhere in the world is welcome to join us.
Marsden is the location where James and Enoch Taylor had a smithy in which the cropping machines were built. It is also where William Horsfall's mill was located. The unpopularity of Horsfall led to regular infantry and cavalry being stationed in Marsden.
